Question I am confused

So there are these new types of stuff. There is fort aspenwood. I went in there with my monk. But I am unsure of what the point is. I am accustomed to going into a location and everyone staying together so I can heal them. But as soon as we go in here, (no matter how many times i go in) Everyone just scatters? Should I focus on healing a particular npc? What about the warriors/rangers? What should be their target?
It is the same at the jade quary. I am not sure what I am supposed to be accomplishing. Is there a boss that we have to fight?
I will save my questions about alliance battles for later, I want to know about these first.
Thanks for the input.

In factions some of the new mission types are:

Brief overview

Dragons Throat
Timmed Stay alive 15 minutes and kill as many monsters as possibles. If you kill enough you show up in the score ranking.

Fort Aspen & Jade Query competive Pve

A team from the lux staging area, and a team from the kuz each have an objective.

Fort Aspen - Lux have to get cannon and destory Wraith of God Machine & Kuz has to stop the Lux while the cannon charage's

Jade Query - ? No clue there is never enough players to actually be able to do this mission when Im on.

Winners get faction points (lux or kuz)

Viz Square & Unwalking Waters is a coperative mission.

Two teams are thrown together and they have to work together to beat the mission.

Fort Aspenwood, as mentioned above, is a place where people PvP each other and receive Faction Points as their reward for winning. (600 for winning and 200? for losing)Think of it as an 8v8 Random battle.Depending on which side you are playing for, your goals will be different. As a monk, meh, I wouldn't worrying aobut heals too much. Players are almost instantly rezzed after they die so don't worry about rezing anyone IMO. You can heal NPC's like the Turtles(on luxon side) or Gunther(on Kurzs side) but its up to you. This is probably a good place where a monk can stretch his Smiting muscle and have a little fun killing instead of healing. Up to you.

Luxon- Your job is to get to the center of the Kurzicks base and kill the NPC Master Architector(sp?) Gunther. This stops him from completing his "doomsday" weapon that will kill you team and end the battle. The Kurzicks base has several "layers" to go through in order to reach Gunther. These "layers" have 3 gates per side that you have to go through. Each gate is protected my mor Kurzick NPCs.

But the Luxons have help getting through these gates, they have frickin' sharks with laser beams on their...sorry...I mean they have Turtles with cannons on their backs to blow up the gates and kill anything in its path. The Turtles are accompanied by more Luxon NPC warrior who can help make quick work of enemies. To get them to move forward to the base you have to talk to the Orange and Purple Commander NPC's. The Kurzicks can and will kill your Turtles so you will have to wait for reinforcements to arrive. the Kurzs will also try to kill you Commanders.

So your goal as a Luxon is to get inside the base to kill Gunther and to try to control the mines so the Kurzicks do not get the amber needed for the weapon.

Kurzicks- Your job is to bring Amber from mines located outside your base back to Master Gunther in order to complete the "doomsday" weapon and win the game. This weapon is called Vengence of the Gods and the game will give you updates on how far you are to completing it. The Amber that you get has another use, you give it to the Gatekeeper NPCs that stand besides Gunther and they will repair the gates that the Luxons have destroyed making it harder for them to get inside.

The mines, at the outset of the game are controlled by Luxon NPC's. You kill them and Kurzick NPC's take over and you will be able to collect amber to take to gunther.. The Luxons players will try to re-take these mines while they are simultaneously attacking your base. The Mines, if under Luxon control, also act as a closer Rez shrine to your base.

So as a Kurzick your mission/goal is 2 fold. Collect amber and run it as fast as you can back to Gunther AND protect your base from the Luxon invaders. Very difficult indeed.

I have only played the Jade Quarry once so I haven't really figured it all out yet. I do know that the Jade Quarry battle gives less of a faction reward than Apenwood does which is completely stupid and is the main reason there is no one doing this battle.

Hope this helps.
